PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) to increase car production capacity up to 330 thousand units in 2011 to anticipate growth in the domestic market.
'In the first quarter of next year we will install the (equipment) to increase capacity up to 330 thousand units per year,' said Vice President Director of ADM Sudirman MR, in Jakarta on Wednesday, before the celebration of the achievement of production to 2 million, which was attended by Minister of Industry, MS Hidayat.
For that, he continued, ADM adds an additional investment of Rp150 billion. According to him, even half of this year ADM has added capacity of 211 thousand units to 230 thousand units in stages with an additional investment of Rp360 billion.
'This year we are targeting Daihatsu production reached 300 thousand units. We are pursuing additional 70 thousand units through overtime, 'he said.
He admitted that ADM production is increasing significantly since the collaboration with Toyota to produce cars that is versatile vehicle (MPV) Daihatsu Xenia and Avanza in 2004. Then produce sports cars (SUV) Daihatsu Terios and Toyota Rush in 2007, and in 2008, ADM produces and Lite Ace Toyota Town Ace for the export market to Japan.

Added Deputy Director of Manufacturing ADM Pongky P, from 2004 until now, largely ADM production or 55 percent is supplied to the Toyota brand and the remaining 45 percent for Daihatsu.
'Of the total production of ADM as much as 15 percent are supplied to export markets and 85 percent for domestic,' said Pongky.
